Muscat d'Alsace

2001
1 bottle of 0.75 L
Type du vin : Aromatic dry white
Cépage : Muscat
Alcool : 12,5 % alc/vol
Température : 10-12 °C
Conservation : 3 years
Terroir:
Gravel, sand and calcareous clay sites, south-facing
Vinification:
Wines are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Fermentation by the action of natural indigenous yeast.
Dégustation:
Appearance: Transparent, pale yellow. Nose: Lively, lacy, with charm; forthright, and full of the subtle aromas of this fine grape. Palate: A delicious wine with delicate acidity and a slightly bitter, lemony character. Good length, finishing supple and fruity. Smokey, ripe fruit and liquorice. By and large for enjoying very young, but also keeps well.
Accords mets-vins:
An excellent aperitif wine, but irresistible on its own at any moment.
Références:
Peppery aromas of curry powder and ginger ; a bit like grüner veltliner on the nose. Dry and rather chewy, with good texture and cut. A bit closed today but shows plenty of flavor. Needs to be served with food.
Stephen Tanzer’s, International Wine Cellar-July August 2001.

Explosive aromas of lime, flowers, mint and resin. Intense, dry and shapely, with good cut and mineral character. Stylish, intense, scented muscat.
International Wine Cellar, Stephen Tanzer’s – Nov / Dec 2003
